MAHAKUMBH MELA -2025

I was travelling in India in the year 2019 and Akash suggested me to see original India. Most of the travelers see international cities like Delhi , Agra and Jaipur but I was looking for original India. The way India used to look thousands of year before when Hindu holy book Veda was written over here by social scientist. India historical tours arranged accommodation and sight scene of India’s largest and biggest carnival (Mela), “Ardh Kumbh Mela.” Here

people come for spiritual gathering in numbers of lakhs and crores. I heard the echoes of sadhus and Babas chanting prayers and millions of people gathering to take a dip in the holy water; this is what Kumbh Melas look like in Prayagraj. Having great importance for Hindus, Kumbh Mela in India is celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm. It’s the largest religious gathering in the world, which was held in the Intangible Cultural Heritage position by UNESCO World Heritage.

I heard the tales of the origin of Kumbh Mela vary, though the most common tale of the “Samudramanthan” saga by the demons and gods & one god took away the pot, and during this course of time, four drops spilled from the pot in Ujjain, Haridwar, Nasik, and Prayagraj, respectively, sanctifying them forever.

From that time, these four places became sacred pilgrimage sites, where the Kumbh Mela is celebrated in each of these four places once every 12 years.

After attending the Ardh Kumbh Mela 2019 in Prayagraj, my curious mind did get a few answers. The faith does not require logic, and that can be seen at the Sangam City of Prayagraj, where millions of devotees, pilgrims, and tourists gather to take a holy dip to get rid of the cycle of birth, death, and rebirth.

Then I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the families, including children, taking baths in freezing cold water. People were offering puja on the bank of the divine rivers; kids were jumping into the water, and families were taking a dip together.

I saw a large number of people wearing a layer of ashes on their bodies, and those people are naked. The crowd called them “Naga Sadhus.” And the bathing practice would start after their dip in the holy river.

I felt and think this is Ardh Kumbh, and how’s the Maha Kumbh, which will be organized in 2025 in India?

I decide that I’ll also be coming in 2025 for the Maha Kumbh Mela through India historical tours.
